How To Make Barefoot Running Sandals – Tying the Toe Knot

With our new 100% polyester lace the knot that I’m going to recommend that you
make for your huarache sandals couldn’t be simpler. It’s literally just
um, well, let me move that out of the way so you can see. Just an overhand knot the way you’ve
probably tied millions if knots before. When I make this, I do 2 things: I pull the long end so I end up with the very tip of the lace lace almost right inside the knot and
then I don’t pull it really tight. In fact I keep it
relatively loose and kind of flat. You can see…like this. That’s step one. Step two is heating
that up with my manly pink Bic lighter. And you don’t wanna set it on fire or burn it. You just want to get it nice and melt-y. And then, last but not least, grab the pliers
and press it flat. You can do this with a hammer as well, I
guess. Just give it a good squeeze. And when this solidifies in a few
seconds, it gives you a nice really, really strong, very, very thin practically solid piece of plastic.
Technically polyester that will last a really long time.
