How To Clean And Detail Vinyl Leather Seats And Upholstery – Chemical Guys Car Care

We have this beautiful 1969 Chevy Camaro with
the original interior. But this vinyl is looking pretty dirty. It’s full of dirt and body oils, and we’re
gonna take all that out to restore a brand new look. To clean the upholstery, I’m going to use
Nonsense All Purpose Cleaner. This cleaner has no color and no odor, so
it’s safe to use on any interior surface of your vehicle. I’ll spray the cleaner directly into the brush… …then go ahead and scrub out any dirt, oil,
and impurities from deep within the vinyl upholstery. Once I’ve cleaned the area, I’ll take a Workhorse
Microfiber Towel to wipe up any of the dirt and impurities from the surface of the cleaner, and remove it all from the seat. Now that we’ve cleaned and removed any impurities
from the vinyl upholstery, I’m gonna protect it using Silk Shine Dressing. Gently massage it into the seat like you’re
rubbing lotion onto skin. Once you’re finished spreading Silk Shine
over the upholstery, you can go ahead and wipe off any excess product using a fresh
Workhorse Microfiber Towel. Now we have a fresh, restored look on this
vinyl upholstery. We cleaned off any dirt, debris, and body
oils using Nonsense All Purpose Cleaner and the Horsehair Leather Cleaning Brush. Then we sealed and protected the surface using
Silk Shine Dressing to finish with a nice silky sheen.

  • What is the best way to use the silk shine dressing for interior? I use inner clean which is really good for wiping down all the dust and whatnot from the dash, steering wheel, etc. but obviously it doesn't leave a shine afterwards. Would it be ok to use inner clean first to remove dirt and dust and then add silk shine dressing over that? What would you recommend?

  • Hello Chemical Guys… I just purchased your leather cleaner and conditioner and I was wondering can I use the leather cleaning for the vinyl/ plastic door panels on the doors in the interior or will it damage it…. please respond

  • I have a 2014 camry with leather-ish looks. The steering wheel, dashboard, parts of the seats, and door panels LOOK leather. But I'm not sure what the material is. What products do you recommend? Is it better to be safe and use a leather cleaner on fake leather or would that ruin in?
